Reveal smoother, brighter skin — instantly.

Dermablading (or dermaplaning) is a safe and controlled exfoliation technique that uses a sterile blade to gently remove built-up dead skin cells and fine vellus hair from the skin’s surface. The result is a smoother texture, enhanced brightness, and better absorption of active skincare ingredients.

While the hair is removed during treatment, it grows back at the same rate, colour, and texture — it will not become darker or coarser. Ideal for those wanting immediate results with no downtime, but smoother, glowing skin and makeup that glides on for a flawless, luminous finish.

About

Dermablading (also known as Dermaplaning)

Reveal smoother, brighter skin — instantly.

Dermablading is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses a sterile blade to exfoliate the skin and remove fine, downy facial hair (called vellus hair). It delivers immediate results with zero downtime, making it a popular choice for those seeking a refreshed, more radiant complexion without the irritation of more aggressive treatments.

How does dermablading work?

Using a fine, surgical-grade blade that glides across the surface of your skin to gently remove the top layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair.

This physical exfoliation leaves the skin ultra-smooth and glowing, creating the perfect canvas for makeup or active skincare.

What are the benefits?

  • Instantly softer, smoother skin
  • Brighter, more even complexion
  • Improved absorption of skincare products
  • Creates a flawless base for makeup
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and dullness
  • Enhances results when combined with LED Light Therapy or peels

How many treatments and how often?

Dermablading can be done as a one-off treatment before a special event or incorporated into your regular skincare routine. For best results, we recommend every 4–6 weeks, in line with your skin’s natural renewal cycle.

What to expect during & after the treatment

During the treatment, it is painless and relaxing, with a light scraping sensation as the blade exfoliates the skin.

After your treatment, you can expect immediate smoothness and radiance. There’s no downtime, although some may experience slight redness that fades quickly. Makeup can be applied straight away.

Will facial hair grow back thicker or darker?

No. Dermablading only removes vellus hair — the soft, fine, almost translucent hair found on the cheeks, jawline, and forehead. It’s biologically different from terminal hair, which is coarser and darker (like that found on the scalp or underarms). Vellus hair will grow back the same, not thicker, darker, or more noticeable.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes — dermablading pairs beautifully with other treatments like:

  • Medical Grade LED Light Therapy: To calm the skin and enhance glow.
  • Customised Skin Treatments: Additional treatments such as IPL or Laser benefit from removing vellus hair, allowing for more precise results and improved effectiveness, making dermablading an ideal companion treatment.

We’ll recommend the best combination for your skin type to address your concerns and the needs of your skin.

Preparing for your treatment

There is no preparation required prior to your Dermablading Exfoliating Skin Treatment

What happens during your Dermablading / Dermaplaning treatment?

A surgical blade is passed over the skin of the face removing the superficial dead skin cells of the stratum corneum (top layer of the epidermis) as well as shaving away the soft peach-fuzz known as vellus hair to reveal smooth translucent skin.

As these fine, downy hairs do not have a blood supply, they’ll grow back to their original state — no need to fear them becoming thicker or darker.

What to expect after your treatment

Results are immediate and the process can be repeated every 6 weeks, plus there is no pain or downtime with this treatment. Your skin will glow with good health, and the texture of the skin will be smoother and softer.

Is Dermablading / Dermaplaning suitable for you?

This treatment is perfect for ageing skins to improve slowing cell turnover and is an excellent alternative to chemical peels, especially if you’re pregnant or lactating and unable to have a chemical peel or prefer not to.
Before a big event, your makeup goes on flawlessly and will not settle on the surface, accentuating lines and wrinkles.

Not suitable for acne clients.
