About
How does it work?
PRP facial therapy is a treatment that uses your blood platelets and plasma to stimulate new cell growth to improve your overall complexion, with a more even and smooth skin texture.
PRP facials are also known as “Vampire Facials” and “ Liquid Gold”. PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. Plasma treatment has been used by orthopaedic doctors to help athletes recover faster after surgery.
PRP facials are a three step process, administered by a fully qualified Registered Nurse.
What are the benefits?
An effective non-surgical treatment that will assist with the following skin concerns.
* Reducing wrinkles
* Plumping sagging skin
* Ironing out creases in the skin
* Improving complexion
* Improving acne scars
Research has found most people get results from 3 or more treatments.
A full skin consultation with our experienced registered nurse is required for first-time clients before your treatment.
Treatment Information
What results can you expect from PRP facials?
Typically, the first results are visible two weeks after plasma treatment, with an overall improvement in the tone and texture of the skin.
Full results can be expected four months after the initial treatment, as your platelets stimulate the release of growth factors that activate collagen regeneration.
Increasing the collagen in the skin means over time, the skin will appear refreshed and more youthful.
Results will vary from one individual to the other.
PRP facial before & after
Preparing for your PRP facial treatment
Avoid alcohol 2-4 days prior to your treatment. We recommend taking aspirin or blood thinners for 2-4 nights prior to help avoid bruising.
What happens during your PRP facial treatment?
At your treatment, our nurse practitioner will take a small amount of your blood. We then spin it through a centrifuge to separate your platelets and plasma.
Once separated, platelets and plasma appear as a yellow fluid, which we call liquid gold and holds the necessary components to rejuvenate your skin. We then re-inject your plasma rich platelets into the treatment area with our micro-needling pen or a skin booster gun.
The whole treatment takes around 1 hour.
What to expect after your PRP facial treatment?
In most cases, you can expect minimal social downtime where the skin may be slightly inflamed and red for a couple of days after the procedure.
At the time of your treatment, our nurse practitioner will advise you on all post-treatment home care.
PRP Facial Therapy is administered by one of our highly trained nurse practitioners.
