WHAT HAPPENS DURING YOUR TREATMENT?

You may feel a tingling sensation during the application of the peel.

The skin may appear slightly pink and feel tight immediately following the peel treatment.

PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT.

Before your Lactic Brightening and Hydrating Peel, it’s essential to prepare your skin with active ingredients to maximise results and ensure safe and effective treatment for a minimum of 14 days before your treatment. 

The use of daily sun protection with a broad-spectrum sunscreen is vital in preparing for your peel treatment and will enhance the results.

Depending on your skin concerns, we’ll advise other specific products, so you achieve your skincare goal.  

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR TREATMENT?

Due to the metabolic nature of lactic acid, shedding is unlikely, however can occur with higher concentrations.

Depending on the intensity of your lactic peel, you may experience minimal discomfort and slightly pink skin for up to 3 days.  If swelling and discomfort persist past 72 hours, you must contact your clinician at Select Skin.

For the first 8 hours, do not apply additional other products on the skin.

In most cases, the skin will not shed skin after your treatment.

Apply your recommended moisturiser to reduce irritation and severe dryness, and shedding. 

Sun protection must be worn and reapplied following the treatment. 

Avoid using makeup for a minimum of 8 hours after having a chemical peel unless your therapist provides mineral protection.

Typically you can resume your usual skincare regimen 3-5 days post-treatment or when all signs of inflammation have subsided or as advised by your dermal clinician.
