We’re chilling with Cryopen Cryotherapy

What’s Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a low-risk procedure to remove skin lesions, such as skin tags, pigmented lesions and solar lentigines that can appear anywhere on the body, including the face and neck.

Is Cryotherapy suitable for you?

If you have unwanted or unsightly lesions that bother you, then CryoPen Cryotherapy is a quick and easy way to remove them.

The types of lesions that CroyPen can treat are as follows: Skin tags, hemangioma, sunspots (solar lentigo), pigmented spots, actinic or seborrheic keratoses.

Even though we’ll thoroughly examine your skin and the skin lesions you’d like removed before your CryoPen treatment, we recommend checking with your doctor first to ensure the lesions are benign and safe for removal using the CryoPen.

cryopenIntroducing CryoPen to Select Skin.

Cryopen is a pen-like device that delivers a powerful microjet of cold gas known as nitrous oxide to freeze the skin tissue to remove unwanted skin lesions.

The pen’s laser-like precision targets the skin lesion without causing any damage to the surrounding skin.

What happens during the CryoPen treatment?

Initially, we’ll examine the lesions to determine if it’s safe to remove with CryoPen.

We recommend a visit to your GP before your CryoPen procedure.

CryoPen is a very safe method for removing unsightly skin tags and lesions.

CryoPen is quick, easy and most importantly, painless and effortlessly removes benign skin lesions and skin tags.

If it’s safe to do so, the treatment can be carried out within a few minutes and given the speed of the treatment, anywhere from 3 – 45 seconds per lesion, there is no need for an anaesthetic.

Once treated, within a few days, the frozen skin tissue will form a scab. After a week or so, the scab will fall away, taking the skin lesion with it.

The removal is permanent and will improve your skin’s aesthetic, and you’ll be free from bothersome and unwanted skin tags or pigmented patches.

Treatment aftercare?

There is no specific aftercare; however, as the skin will scab, as we do after any treatment at Select Skin, always remember to apply a broadspectrum sunscreen to the affected area before going outside.

Try to avoid any friction over the area from your clothing. Lesions will naturally fall away within a week or two, and we encourage you not to scrub or pick at the affected area.

There should be no scarring, though it’s essential to note hair may not regrow over the treated areas, and darker skins may experience depigmentation.
